Capturing Moments... I Think.

I attended a Creative Writing class just for fun during the first week of this sem just to fill up 1 out of the 5-hour gap between my classes on Mondays, and man did I LOL during the whole one hour.

Mr Leonard Jeyam, who has taken over Dr Ashraf (who taught me this same subject two sems ago and has now left for Cyprus *sob!*), taught the class how to write haikus, something I've never understood nor attempted to write. Many of the students wrote hilarious haikus. Some where rude, some were shocking, some were provocative, and some were just plain beautiful. As much as I'd love to, I don't think I'm allowed to publish any of the haikus here due to the fact that they're not mine, but I have attemped to create my own haikus-- short poems that are supposed to 'capture a moment', says Mr. Leonard.

I don't know if my haikus qualify being called actual haikus, but ah, if it 'captures a moment', consists of 2-3 lines, and is about 17 syllables long, then it's a haiku to me.

So here goes. A collection of haikus about the loverly mates I spend most of my days with in UM.

---

The Heidi Haiku.

A golden MyVi stops by.
A dazzling smile.
'Good morning!'

---

The Caricaturist.

Sitting behind the wheel.
Tree behind the car.
BUMP.

:p

---

Y2Leong.

Clack! Clack! Clack! Clack!
Door opens.
Yen Yen has arrived.

---

V for Vandana.

Tall, dark, beautiful
Walks into the room.
Others whisper and stare.

---

About Shijie.

An innocent smile, then
A spicy, stinging comment.
Everyone laughs.

---

The Beast.

He smiles.
Girls swoon.
I barf.

---

Siti Ber.

Left right left right left
her feet in rhythmic motion
she jogs one more round.

---

Renu(g/k)a.

She holds onto her bag
Tightly, but still
SNATCH!

---

Jaron.

She eats in slow motion.
Poke. Bite. Chew. Swallow.
He chuckles quietly.

---

There. I think that's enough small mounds of crap for today.

Lots of bursts
of short sentences,
from
Me.

Yes, 'clack' is the onomatopoeia equivalent... what else could it be? Click? Clock? Clap? lol.

And Ezuan, you keep telling yourself that you're sexy and beautiful, and it might just come true. :p
