Teeth Bling

When you're sitting in the dentist's chair with your mouth wide open, exposing all your cavities and plaque and bad breath, it could get very awkward when the nurse looking into your gob with the dentist is your very own prospect mother-in-law.

So I'll be getting braces. Most likely. I mean, I've had my teeth checked and cleaned and ready to have metal wires tugging hard at them by a dentist and her nurse, who is the boyfriend's mother, so now I'm just waiting for my next appointment to get them installed.

I've never had a problem with my teeth. Honestly though, they don't exactly resemble Julia Roberts' set of pearly whites.

Braces_by_annmeggWait, that's an understatement. My lower teeth resemble crooked gravestones in a dodgy graveyard, or, as KakZimah once put it, piano keys. Some teeth pop out and some teeth prefer to hide behind other teeth. It's not really THAT bad though. I mean, at least my upper teeth are all nice and straight and not yellow. My lower teeth aren't yellow either, though. Just crooked. But I've always been happy with my teeth the way they are. It's just my philosophy - Be happy with what God has given you, innit?

Except, as a family member pointed out as I told them about my dilemma of whether or not I should get braces, God had given me the teeth, but I hadn't taken the steps to get them to grow straight.

True.

So here I am, pretty much damn sure I'm getting the braces. Mama did say I'll regret it if I pass up this chance to get perfectly straight teeth. So I'm getting them. I'm willing to spend this golden era of 20-years-oldhood with braces crippling my smile, all for the sake of getting that million-watt smile a lot of people desire.

Besides, I won't go through it alone. Two of my close friends at UM have just recently got their teeth decorated with the teeth-straightener. We'd be like the coolest nerds ever. Yen Yen, Stephanie and Aisya, flashing our braces at all who make us smile... We might even start a Braces Embracers Club.

That would be nice.

Lots of smiles and crooked teeth,

From Me.

hey there!! Getting braces doesn't sound that bad. I got mine when i was in my secondary school then. I thought that i would be "alien" but it turn out to be fine. Nobody will notice it after a few days. So no worry!! =)
ps: waiting for your zillion-watt smiles!
